In my role as a Lloyd’s broker at Baalnak Miami, I manage, broker, and place facultative accounts for both renewals and new business across Latin America. I oversee the day-to-day activity of our Sabotage & Terrorism portfolio, preparing slips, pricing matrices, endorsements, and underwriting presentations while ensuring submissions meet market standards. I work directly with London markets, coordinating negotiations with Lloyd’s underwriters and supporting contract-certainty processes from start to finish. I also contributed to the structuring and binding of a new commercial binder facility, assisting with drafting, pricing support, and compliance requirements. Additionally, I review SOVs, analyze exposures, and support clients with technical wording comparisons and market documentation to ensure clear, accurate placements.

• Handling, negotiating and processing accounts in the Caribbean. This mainly included negotiating with clients, analyzing risks, preparing broking packets with underwriting information. Preparing endorsements, pricing matrices, slips, excel sheets. Broking Renewals and new business opportunities. Scribing in meetings both in person and zoom. Spoke with clients and markets for business purposes.

• Assisting the account handlers from Latin American, North American, and Middle Eastern districts. This mainly included preparing endorsements, translating slips, preparing slips, preparing excel sheets and pricing matrices independently. Prepared binding letters as conformation of coverage. Partook in daily “brokers meetings”. Prepared risk evaluations (new and renewals) for brokers in Latin American and North American districts. Processed, scanned and filed risks and endorsements. Spoke with underwriters and clients for business purposes. Worked under and reported to Anthony Shales. Account Director

• Assisting the accountants with pivot tables. Analyzing previous outstanding payments from older accounts (up to 2018). This mainly included analyzing large amounts of data and compressing it into a readable pivot table, helping ensure what payments are outstanding before continuing with renewals.
