Since I was young, I have always had a passion for travel. In 2020, my family of 7 traveled around the world and experienced different cultures, met people from all walks of life, and grew as individuals by leaving our everyday routines to seek out new experiences. We traveled to French Polynesia, New Zealand, Australia, and parts of Asia (Singapore, Bali), all which shaped my cultural mindset as it relates to personal growth and travel. This once in a lifetime experience kick-started my love for all things culture, history, and immersion. Ever since 8th grade, I wanted to study abroad in Spain. I finally had the opportunity to achieve this dream my second semester of Junior year of college, through FSU Valencia, a Liberty University partner program, International Studies Abroad (ISA). Here, I experienced a new environment for 4 months, living in a host home with a solely Spanish-speaking family. Every week, we had 2 new girls from all over the world come stay with us and got to know each of them and how their lives differed from ours in America. I even had the opportunity to be a translator between the host girls from Amsterdam and my Spanish-speaking host mom. Over my time abroad, I had the opportunity to travel to amazing places like Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Amsterdam, and much more. I am forever grateful for the opportunity I had to travel in my college years and hope to return to Europe soon! These experiences truly shaped my life for the better and I will forever cherish the memories made and relationships built overseas.
