Springfield, CO
02.2020 - Current
  • Collaborated with RTL staff to support the implementation of EQIP, EQIP-CIC, CSP, and CSP-GCI programs on a daily basis. Contributed to all stages of project development, witnessing the process from inception to execution. I work independently, with little supervision, in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) in every aspect from field establishment checks to writing conservation plans. I also work independently writing Highly Erodible Land (HEL) compliance plans as requested by producers.
  • Collaborated with producers to enhance their skills in vegetation monitoring for Upland Habitat Wildlife management across various Lesser Prairie Chicken Initiative EQIP contracts. Helped organize the workshop for that specific training. Proficient in entering data into computer databases for grass stand establishment on an annual basis. Independently gathered information on emergency grazing by visiting the field and documenting it in conservation plans. Assist in sending out newsletters for the Baca County Conservation District (BCCD) for the STAR Plus grant as well as other programs the district offers to promote conservation. Participated in cutting down and removing invasive tamarisk trees from creek bottoms under district supervision. Organized local workgroup meetings to assist producers in expressing their resource concerns and developing ideas for implementation with the NRCS and district.
  • I work and communicate well with the RTL on program implementation and balancing progress within all contracts. Managed timely completion of assignments by closely monitoring deadlines. I communicate and work hand in hand with the RTL and the producer to set goals and timelines to successfully accomplish the project and get conservation on the ground in a timely manner.
  • Conducted individual training sessions for new employees, teaching the processes of creating conservation plans and identifying grass species during field checks, along with required paperwork.
  • Fluent in a vast variety of computer systems required to implement NRCS programs, such as Conservation Desktop, Field Office Technical Guide, Web Soil Survey, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and so forth.
  • Have attended numerous trainings regarding how to successfully implement conservation plans for EQIP, EQIP-CIC, CSP, CSP-GCI, and CRP programs.
  • Engaged in educational opportunities with the BCCD through attending neighboring county workshops, resulting in increased ability to serve local producers for conservation purposes.
  • With personalized experience in creating various CRP contracts, I possess the authority to approve job sheets for multiple projects such as Conservation Cover(327), Access Control(472), Upland Wildlife Habitat Management(645), Early Successional Habitat Management/Development(647), and Fence Checkout (382).
