  • Traffic Engineering office lead for McAllen; currently supervising 3 P.E.'s (including 2 that I mentored and developed from EITs) and 1 EIT, with shared oversight of 3 CAD techs and 1 administrative assistant.
  • Business Development/Client Services Manager (BD/CSM) for South Texas (Traffic); leveraged existing professional relationships with local city, county, and TxDOT (PHR, LRD, and CRP District) staff to strategically pre-position for upcoming municipal on-call or statewide Traffic contracts.   • Served as Project Manager in Traffic Safety section; ultimately responsible for overall progress of Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) projects; designed and reviewed highway signing and pavement markings plans, traffic signal and flashing beacons plans, roadway illumination plans, work zone traffic control plans (TCPs), Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) reports, all-way stop and traffic signal warrant studies, speed zone studies, access management (driveway permits), and various other traffic operations or traffic safety components.

  • Assessed existing traffic signs and pavement markings, designed engineering plans, and monitored installation of new traffic signs and pavement markings on roads within City.
  • Conducted all-way stop warrants, traffic signal warrants, and speed limit amendments.
  • Conducted intersection sight distance (ISD) studies in accordance with AASHTO guidelines to determine if obstructions were present within intersection’s clear sight triangles.
  • Reviewed proposed plats, site plans, and conditional-use permits, and provided answers to questions pertaining to traffic operations.
  • Designed work zone traffic control plans (TCPs) for roadway construction projects, oversaw deployment of temporary traffic control devices, and regularly checked sites to ensure that traffic control devices were in place and/or operational, in accordance with TMUTCD.
  • Responsible for managing City’s Speed Hump Installation Program. Reviewed applications and conducted traffic engineering studies to determine if streets met all requirements to be eligible for installation of speed humps.
  • Performed travel runs along major corridors to check traffic signal progression using GPS. Obtained offsets, splits, and time/space diagrams using Synchro® software.
