• As Second Officer – Navigational Officer
• - Keeping navigation watch 0000-0400,1200-1600.
• - In charge of all nautical charts and Electronic charts, to keep up to date for all relevant ocean going or coastal passages.
• - Passage planning.
• - Responsible for all GMDSS inspections and tests.
• - Keeping Pharmacy on board up to date.
• - Checking and reporting the weather forecast.
• - Responsible for Noon report.
• - Keeping all publications up to date Pilot Books, Tide Tables, Radio and Fog Signals, etc.

• As Third Officer - Safety Officer
• - Keeping navigation watch from 0800-1200, 2000.-2400.
• - In charge of Fire-fighting equipment and Life Saving Appliances. To ensure that all necessary maintenance is carried out, as well service that has to be done are carried out in due time.
• - In charge of aft mooring station (arrival/departure manoeuvres).
• - In charge of all life boats and life rafts inspections.
• - Conducting safety training and familiarization for all crew members.
• - Conducting and planning all drills according to the SOLAS, Flag state and company policy.
• - Reporting to the 1st Officer regarding task delegation of safety inspections.
