Miles Magill

The company tasked with repurposing land into a nature park, my duties varied from day to day were it could be anything from general landscaping, digging holes for trees, to even land clearing. The volunteers were mostly autonomous where we were assigned our tasks in the morning and worked either in small groups or on our own to complete it. There was a couple days out of the year when we had a big influx of volunteers from middle schools. During these events the senior members that volunteered there like me would oversee the new volunteers to ensure no damage was done to the park due to lack of experience like removing or cutting plants they were not supposed to as an example.

There is an annual event at the Venice Municipal Airport where restored WW2 planes are put on display for the public. I was tasked as staff where we would serve many roles as security to ensure no one did anything they werent supposed to. I was also tasked with ushering people through the planes in a timely manner while also assisting more elderly people with entering and exiting the planes.

Every Halloween Grace Methodist Church would need volunteers to empty the truck of pumpkins that they would sell. I was apart of the chain of people that would carry the pumpkins out of the truck and into the area they would be sold.
