Point Mallard is seasonally open from Memorial Day to Labor day of every year. I worked the summer of 2024 as a regular cashier, and was promoted to a supervisor midway through the 2025 season. I will return there when I head home for the summer.
- Handled and counted over 10,000 cash daily, creating bands and making sure the deposit totals and amounts to have for our drawers were correct and matched our transaction records.
- Totaled receipts from credit card transactions, making sure the transaction reports matched and every receipt was accounted for, going back and printing the missing ones.
- Counted the safes daily, ensuring the amount was correct and fixing any discrepancies.
- Was on call to aid cashiers whenever necessary. Wether they needed more change, a guest wanted to speak to a manager, a cashier needed something to stay hydrated in the blazing Alabama sun, or a refund needed to be processed.
- Filled in as a cashier when short-staffed, provided fast and friendly customer service to park guests , rang guests up for admission tickets, souvenirs in the gift shop, food and drinks at the various concession stands, and rentals for floats, lockers, and cabanas.
- Aided Front Gate cashiers at the beginning of each day during the initial open rush in searching every bag that entered the park to prevent accidents, illegal activity, and ensuring the safety of our guests.
- Operated photocopy machine, cash register, and other office equipment.
- Collaborated with store management to address any cash-related issues, fostering effective communication among team members.
- Maintained accurate financial records through diligent documentation of all transactions and adjustments.
