Personal experience

I am a adoptee from Ethiopia which is located in east Africa also known as the Horn of Africa. I was adopted into a beautiful family of 23, yes you read that right 23. I came to the US when I was 9 years old, unable to speak English and had never even been inside of a car or a plane until then. My parents adopted many children with special needs/disabilities. I grew up helping my parents with my siblings and could feed my sister with a G-tube by the time I was 14 years old. I understand how difficult and rewarding caregiving and knew I wanted to work in healthcare very early on. Which leads me to now present day working as a caregiver and working on furthering my education in healthcare.
