I am very motivated to work right now, and will be able to work most weekends and occasional weekdays if it's necessary. This will be my first job if I'm accepted, so I'm looking forward to learning more professional skills, especially dealing with the public. I am excited and ready to do whatever is needed of me, even if it's not completely in my comfort zone, because those experiences are what I seek to gain from this job.
I helped take care of pets at the shelter whenever time was available by cleaning their areas, walking them, etc. My family and I also fostered many dogs at our home, and they often stayed in my room.
I've done lots of volunteering with Scouts in many locations. Recently we built a garden in the Las Flores Community Garden for the special education program at a nearby school as part of an Eagle Scout project. In another Eagle Project we planted fruit trees and installed a water system for them at the historic Camarillo Chapel. In April of 2022 we built public benches and tables for the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Moorpark. I've also done some smaller projects at camps. We've moved old cots to a dumper at Camp Chawanakee, on Shaver Lake, I've helped restore trails at Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico, as well as Camp Whitsett, in the Sequoia forest. We've done beach cleanups in Leo Carrillo and Zuma, and planted trees with an organization called Replant Life. These are just a few examples of things I've done to help the community through Scouts.
I have a friend with a pet lizard and I often drive (I used to bike) over to his house when his family is travelling or cannot take care of the lizard and feed it, clean it's cage, or other tasks he asks of me in the house.
