- My main role as a tech assistant is to be a team player and make sure I help in any way I can for the patient to have a smooth and comfortable exam. That includes patient room preparation. Cleaning and prepping the room for the correct imaging study, also explaining the procedure, and answering any questions that the patient may have. More advanced things include flushing IVs, transferring, and positioning. There are plenty of other duties that I must keep up with, but the patients' safety is my number one concern. Even sometimes bringing the patient back to their rooms. This is just for a CT tech, but I also help and position for MRI and X-ray whenever I am asked to, or if we're shorthanded.
