Most important, I collaborate with physicians to quickly assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing conditions.

• In the labor area, I provide care of the expectant mother during labor and delivery which include. monitoring closely for potential complications and responding swiftly to emergencies, providing emotional support, administering medications as needed, monitoring the fetal heart rate and contractions and assisting the MD's with the labor and delivery.
• In the Intake area, I triage the expectant mother and up to 6 weeks post-partum. Take a quick history, do fetal heart tones and vital signs and take to triage depending on the level of care.
• In the Triage area, I provide emergency care including placing IV's and administer medications as needed as well as monitoring closely for potential complications.
• In the Recovery room, I provide pre-op care for the patients coming for c/s as well as the recovery after the surgery.

• Strengthened unit care standards and policies with focus on patient safety and dignity.
• Maximized team performance by monitoring nursing care, including patient assessment processes and treatment implementations.
• Trained new nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures and safety protocols to optimize performance and safety.
• Coordinated nursing care on unit through staff assignments, assisting and rounding with physicians, monitoring patient orders and communicating with ancillary departments and assisting staff.

• Oversaw delivery of care for all patients on a 600 delivery a month labor and delivery unit, delegating nursing assignments and supervising team comprised of nurses, new residents and unit clerks.
• Provided direct patient care, stabilized patients and determined next course of action.
• Monitored patient condition in a high risk labor unit, including interpreting and tracking fetal monitoring readings, identifying irregular patterns and updating team members on changes in stability or acuity.
