  • We spent almost 3 weeks performing exhausting physical labor, working alongside refugee leaders, collaborating with representatives of other organizations in hopes to gain money for sponsorships, and developing meaningful and individual relationships
  • Through this experience, I was able to put my leadership skills to work, adapt to a new environment, empathize with people, and negotiate with business leaders
  • I also spent nearly a month in varies rural areas of the Philippines performing service work
  • We spent most of our time building an elementary school
  • We were constantly meeting with members of the community and youth to better serve them
  • Here, I gained a true love for the people and culture of Southeast Asia
