Currently work for multiple OD/MD's as a full time Ophthalmic Technician. Responsible for everything from working up patients/manual refractions to diagnostic testings such as IOL Master, Verion, Manual Refraction, OCT, Fundus photos, Corneal topography, Glare Test (BAT), Tonopen, Color testing, Humphrey Visual Field test, Applanation. I also manage clinic/inventory, clinical trials (GCP), and scribing with physicians as the need arises as well as everyday patient care/call backs/PA/medication refills.
I am proficient in conducting various diagnostic tests such as Manual Refraction, OCT, Fundus photos, Corneal topography, Glare Test (BAT), Tonopen, Color testing, Humphrey Visual Field test, and Applanation. Additionally, I possess extensive knowledge of the general ophthalmic workup of patients. I have used MDI, CPT coding, and general billing to ensure that patients receive excellent care on a daily basis.
I am proficient in accurately scribing medical notes using MDI during doctor exams. I am excellent at explaining surgical procedures and administering injections. I am very compassionate towards patients and prioritize reassuring and comforting them during sensitive procedures. I regularly use MDI, CPT coding, and general billing to provide exceptional care for patients. I know OSHA and other medical guidelines and requirements, as well as general office tasks, confidentiality, and filing systems. Applied eye medications and drops to dilate pupils in preparation for examinations. Instilled anesthetic drops and assisted in laser treatments and minor procedures.
