Learned new materials, processes, and programs quickly.
Participated in on-the-job training, working closely with supervisors and coworkers and asking appropriate questions.
Attended training courses to build understanding of processes, techniques, and industry.
Familiarized myself with as many tools as possible relating to the trade.
Gained a wealth of knowledge from spending time learning under master technicians.
Practiced my handiwork consistently and took notes to obtain the most from my instruction.
Proved my ability to work competently without close supervision when given a task.
Minimized damage to aircraft by understanding how to preemptively identify potential problems.
Spent ample time fabricating parts for various reasons ranging from entirely new fittings to simple shims or precise radius blocks.
Developed a excellent understanding of relevant blueprints and computer programs such as Corridor that rivals many senior mechanics on the floor.
Worked continuously under minimal supervision to install a broad range of fasteners from hi-lites to rivets. I even installed the occasional Nut and bolt which led me to research gamps more often to find important information such as proper torque specifications and overcoating procedures.
Practiced and perfected tasks as simple as fillet sealing and overcoating to precise drilling techniques to obtain straight clean and round holes.
I have an excellent attention to detail and this shows greatly when working with QC. Thanks to my firm grasp on the blueprints and understanding of quality work, I often have no issues with QC and am able to answer any questions they may have before they ever arise.
I spent a lot of time moving between different sections of the nose build and was able to gain a solid understanding of the overall process that goes into the entirety of the nose modifications.
I assisted in the location and install process for all 5 frames added, the keel beam, both bulkheads, 5 out of the 6 added longerons, all manner of attaching parts such as intercostals, and I am currently assisting with the radome build as parts become available.
As a whole, I was gifted an excellent opportunity to learn by being placed on S-20 over other sections and I can confidently say without a doubt that I took full advantage of this opportunity and learned more in the past year than most people can learn in many years.
