  • Responsible for pipe welding on United States Coast Guard Cutter
  • Visual inspections and hydro inspections of piping systems and inserts.
  • Copper nickel, carbon, and stainless-steel pipe welding.
  • Also trained employees and utilize Millers pipe worx system and Tip Tig system to increase production.
  • From overseeing fabrication welding in pipe shop to overseeing pipe being installed on ship.
  • Also responsible for training welding apprentice, getting the aluminum pipe welding, and training certified.
  • Making sure that the pipe welding department has all the consumables and all the welding machines that we needed to keep the day-to-day operations running as smoothly as possible.
  • Worked closely with quality control and the United States Coast Guard to make sure all pipe inspections went smoothly and got signed off so other crafts could do paint and installation etc…
  • Perform air test, water drop test and visual inspections of all pipes being welding and penetrations that were being installed along with ECN changes.
  • I also made sure that night shift pipe welding supervisors were lined out properly.
  • I run / ran a crew of 50 weldors, pipe and structural I have a total of 6 pipe welding supervisors that I manage currently.
  • I have been moved to the commercial side of shipbuilding at Eastern Shupbuilding Group. I manage a group of 10 pipe welders now and currently working on 4 tugs and overseeing the pipe welding and pipe fabrication shop.
