PRIMARY PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY
The Level II - Machine Operator's role is to operate a machine, with ability to set up, clean, and break down. The Machine Operator will be responsible for starting up and shutting down the designated equipment, and monitoring progress of the product. The Operator will detect and troubleshoot problems or malfunctioning, and determine when a Line Technician or Mechanic is needed. This would include, but not be limited to, fillers, labelers, and serialization machines. The Machine Operator will report to the Process Owner, but take direction from Line Leader; and work well with other employees. The Operator will ensure machines are running efficiently, effectively, and safely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate equipment according to training and certification for specified equipment
Apply cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) to equipment functioning
Follow verbal and written instructions and procedures designated by Line Leaders and Process Owners (e.g., SOPs)
Document Batch and other records accurately
Perform set up, cleaning, and break down
Troubleshoot equipment, anticipate bottleneck and malfunction issues that inhibit process flow, and determine when mechanic is needed
Complete Level II Curricula and Certification
Act as a role model
