Preparing chemical standards of amino acids and keto acids in known concentration to then creating working solutions of sample preparation to test out the analytical method and verify that amino acids can be separated from one another on a column and readily identified and ideally quantified under the supervision of Dr. Andro Rios.
Under the guidance of Dr. Cleber Ouverney, my primary responsibilities involved analyzing 16S rRNA sequencing data using the Mothur tool suite in Galaxy. This process allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of the microbial community's composition. I utilized tools such as Krona and Phinch for visualization purposes. Additionally, I performed diversity analysis and principal coordinate analysis using Mian. These tasks significantly enriched my skill set and contributed to the success of our research outcomes.
Certificate of Completion in Lab Safety
