Additional Information

I volunteer for an organization called OccuPaws Guide Dog Association. We place fully trained guide dogs with visually impaired residents in the midwest at no charge. My initial role as a 'puppy raiser' involved hosting guide dogs in training in my home and working to further their training to eventually (hopefully) become a guide dog. I was able to start bringing my guide dog in training, Weston, into my second grade classroom. Weston flunked his formal training to become a guide dog and I was able to adopt him. My school district allowed and encouraged me to transition him to a therapy dog role where he truly worked magic throughout the entire school. I would love the consideration to be able to utilize him in my next working role.
