Beverage Supervisor

  • As a beverage supervisor I am mainly in charge of overseeing the staff on the gaming floor; bartender, cocktail servers, and bar back per shift.
  • My responsibilities include maintaining a positive atmosphere for guests and staff, keeping the staff on track, give staff support through out the night and help guide each staff member to provide excellent guest service and follow the casino policies.
  • I also am in charge of the Wine order and the Tobacco order for the casino, inventory once a month, creating a shift report at the end of each shift to the manager and also handling guest complaints that arise or staff issues on shift such as voids, guest concerns and staff concerns, approaches and 456’s.
  • The past month- 2 months I have taken on the responsibilities of payroll, switch forms, organizing PTO for easy approval/disapproval for the Assistant Director/Director, write ups and disciplinary issues, interviewing potential staff, keeping HR updated on staff bids, PAF’s, Open Rec sheets, overseeing all the appropriate points per staff member, reporting to the Assistant Direct/ Director with any issues or concerns with staff.

  • I was in charge of all phone calls and messages/returning calls and providing a friendly and positive experience for clients and potential clients. (100+ phone calls per day incoming and outgoing)
  • I handle all the online potential clients.
  • I ran the EDMS for an attorney within that duty I would: email clients to make them aware of their court dates, Calendar court dates appropriately and save the date to the client’s folder (and keep it organized), scheduling meetings and consultations with attorneys.
  • I also had to keep my attorneys calendar organized and updated, including getting a stance from the county attorney and sometimes the judge, finding a new date that worked with our schedule and the state’s (court) schedule, notify the client of all the updates, file a continuance with the new date and then process the new court date when it is available on EDMS.
  • I would be in charge of setting up depositions when appropriate for the case including: working with the prosecutor for a date, scheduling a court reporter, keeping calendar updated, keeping the client updated, subpoena any and all necessary witnesses.
  • I was in charge of reaching out to county attorneys and police departments to receive any and all discovery in each case, downloading it and keeping it organized in each clients file.
  • I was also in charge of the Iowa DOT Mail for every attorney in the office.
  • Such as making clients aware of their driving privileges and giving them the appropriate information, setting DOT Hearings, making sure all DOT hearings are calendared correctly, providing answers and providing a positive experience when clients call/email with DOT questions.
  • I am also, in charge of creating the online Public Defender Billing Account for all court appointed clients.
  • I would also greet and welcome clients and/or anyone else that enters the office with a positive upbeat attitude and do what I need to make their experience easy, positive and stress free.
  • This job provided me the skills of learning how to be and stay organized, multi-tasking and being sure that every step of your work is completed as I go.
  • There was very little room for error in this position, one small misstep could be detrimental to a client’s defense and outcome of the case.
  • It also gave me to skill to work fast and prioritize my work.

OR Transporter

(I was in charge of going to get patients for their surgery either on a hospital floor or in the preop area.

  • Depending on the surgery the patient was receiving I would transport patients straight to surgery or I would take them to the block room and assist with spinal or epidural insertion.
  • I would then sit with the patient and monitor their vitals as they waited for the OR room to be ready.
  • Coming into the OR room I would help move patients to OR table.
  • I would then hook up the patients to necessary monitors.
  • When patients showed stable vitals I would then assist the Anesthesiologist and their Nurse with the process of pushing propofol and the intubation process (I would be very hands on with the anesthesiologist when there wasn’t an anesthesia nurse present.
  • After the Patient was asleep I would assist with properly positioning the body comfortably and help with the sterilization process.
  • I would do the same when surgery was finished.
  • I was in charge of stocking all materials for each room and keeping the OR until stocked with appropriate supplies throughout the shift and at the end of my shift.
  • Cleaning each OR room after surgery was finished.
  • Help with codes and set up the crash cart and do compressions when necessary.
  • A very important part of my work was being there to talk to the patients and keep them calm and help make the experience as positive and comfortable as possible.

CNA In Patient Care (All in Patient Floors)

  • In the VA hospital I was in charge of assisting with all patient needs including bathing, showering, changing of sheets on bed, checking and changing patients if incontinent, helping patients ambulate, checking vitals, helping with any and all of basic needs with patients.
  • I assisted nurses with med pass and blood sugar checks.
  • I assisted the wound care nurses with wound care.
  • I would help patients discharge from hospital with getting dressed and taking out their IVs and walking them out of the hospital.
  • I would also clean the room and sanitize for housekeeping and set up room when housekeeping was finished.
  • I was also in charge of training the CNA’s coming into the hospital on each floor they were hired for as well as creating their schedule and being sure that the floors were staffed appropriately.
  • I would work multiple floors some days to cover breaks and empty spots.
  • I provided a very positive energy for the floor and for the veterans.
