  • Dear Hiring Manager
  • I am eager to demonstrate my clinical cultural competency and experience to contribute to the success of your team in the professional and technical writing internship .
  • I have exhibited proficiency in the use of standard productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office, Beaker Epic, and RedCap, during my tenure in the Biostatistics Department. This has enabled me to develop an interfaced tracking system that enables clinical staff from various departments to easily access and update project tasks. This system has facilitated communication between the research and clinical staff at the University of Washington's Anatomic laboratories.
  • My role as a Lead Clinical Laboratory Coordinator allowed me to cultivate cultural competency in my interactions with physicians, technicians, nurses, students, and all other clinical personnel in high pressure environments. I conducted an emergency move of materials to a secure designated storage room during a laboratory water leak in the Slide Room, which contained hundreds of thousands of human tissue slides used for patient diagnosis and treatment. I devised and implemented a workflow that was conducive to the retrieval and testing of these human tissue samples, while also accommodating the expectations of patients, physicians, and laboratory technicians.
  • My Experience as a patient facing representative at Evergreen Hospital, improved my problem-solving skills, cultural competence, and adaptability to an otherwise emotionally taxing situation. Communication skills required to speak face to face with a sick individual with lowered tolerance for stress and lowered immune system created an opportunity to use my problem-solving skills, cultural competence, and adaptability to emotionally taxing situations to navigate a solution for frustrated individuals. Despite being called mean names, I made friends with an older gentleman that had a billing issue and was invoiced a large fine for his office visits. Regardless of the mood or state he was in, he deserved patience and tolerance while going through the most difficult time of his life. I helped resolve the billing issue with our billing department and followed up to make sure charges were removed from his account.
  • I am enthusiastic about the prospect of fostering new partnerships with alumni and other key partners to contribute to the program's growth. I am grateful for your consideration of my application and anticipate engaging in a conversation regarding the extent to which my qualifications, abilities, and experience are in accordance with the requirements of this position. I am available to be reached by phone or email.
  • Sincerely
  • Mona Babaie
