I had to put my pride aside and admit there was a problem in my life that I wanted to change. One of my problems was not being able to complete my priorities because of my old ways. I didn't know how to be assertive to co- workers without shutting down which would cause problems in professional relationships. That's when I decided to attend therapy at Johnson County Mental Health. I learned I needed to allow myself to feel these emotions and not run away from them, then try to explain to myself and others what I'm feeling. Then brainstorm on ways I can change my perspective on this particular situation. I even learned that I can recognize and prepare myself for a similar situation that happens again by learning from my mistakes .I'm not perfect, but now that I have this amazing help, I'm excited to tackle everyday life!
