Over the years, valuable experience has been gained through various roles and activities that are directly applicable to dental school. In dental shadowing and assisting, responsibilities included cleaning and sterilizing offices, checking in patients, and documenting procedures such as fillings, extractions, cleanings, and root canals, all under the guidance of a mentor. This experience provided a solid foundation in dental practices and patient care. In the field of barbering, the art of cutting hair was learned at Golden State Barbershop, leading to the establishment of a successful business specializing in men's fades and hair designs, which built a loyal clientele over four years. This role emphasized patience, attention to detail, and effective client communication—skills that are crucial for precision and patient interaction in dentistry. Additionally, volunteering with the United Afghan Association during the U.S. military's withdrawal from Afghanistan involved collecting and distributing clothes and food to refugee camps in the Bay Area, a fulfilling and rewarding endeavor that enhanced organizational and compassionate care skills. These combined experiences have developed a strong foundation in meticulous care, patient relations, and community service, all of which are essential for a successful journey in dental school and beyond.
