Acting Tips
Even though I have no acting background, this is my interpretation of important key factors to obtain as an actor/actress.
What they look for
- Attention to detail.
- They do not just say the lines and go through the motions,
- They comprehend and dissect the script to fully become that character (mannerisms, tone, attire etc.)
A successful audition is not just about the reading.
It includes:
- Our interaction with everyone in the room.
- Our ability to take and carry out feedback.
- How well we transition into different takes of the scene.
- It’s about making a lasting impression.
How to stand out
- When actors introduce themselves in a manner that feels natural and engaging.
- This introduction and interactions can often prelude how you will carry yourself throughout the role.
- With including staying focused when something in the background happens (Door shutting, people coming and going, someone sneezing etc.)
The script isn’t just a script. It’s a means of communication. Even if you get your lines semi wrong, at least your still conveying the same message. Understanding scripts have thoughts, feeling, emotion, depth. Making the script come to life, giving it meaning.
- Grasping the understanding of others lines to know how to react according to your role.
- Listen, process, reaction and formulate a response.
Hobby Interest
I've been certified EMT since 2013. Served four incredible and unforgettable years in the Army. I only got out due to a peripheral neuropathy injury I sustained while on duty, I do have plans to re-join if my modeling and acting don't work out. I love to sing and dance. Fun fact: I participated in Mrs. Vincennes University Pageant in 2014, I choreographed my own lyrical dance routine. Sadly, I did not place. -This includes: Group dance routine, Evening gown, Swim Suit portion, Talent of your choosing and a question we had to answer from the judges. Held long poses for paint artists, resulting in desired image or form.
