Dedicated Clerk with years of experience in the Customer service office for Stanislaus County. I was initially hired as a Temp to help with the call volume for two years & I made sure to keep our attention to detail and multitasking to Dedicated Coworker Clerks. I worked as a temp for 2 years & then was hired on 11/08/2004. In total I earned nineteen years & 21 days of experience in attention to detail and multitasking talents.
When I took a college class I had an instructor who was deaf & he gave me the information on how to enroll and be added to his class for the dead & to learn sign language. I had a classmate who had hearing issues so I tried to learn what I could so that I could carry on a conversation my friend & have him feel included instead of different from others.
I try to keep my sign language up to date as I have friends who are deaf and one of my Junior College instructors was also deaf. I have had the experience to be able to use it & help them at least in a minimal amount. I learned from them how appreciative they were even when my skill was minimal assistance. I have found that those who may have issues when they may not have an interpreter with them were still very appreciative. I am thankful for their appreciation & kindness that they give in return.
The reason I try to keep my sign language skills up is to help those who are in the deaf community that are appreciative when they are not able to have an interpreter with them. It is a blessing for me to have the minimal skills to at least translate for them if in the grocery store or other business. I feel that sharing any help to others is a gift them them & they are truly appreciative. What we put out to others is sometimes what people needed when we didn't know fully that they needed more than we knew.
