As a Jury Coordinator, I planned and coordinated jury services related to the selection, qualification, summons, orientation, and assignment of jurors to the Superior Trial Court; prepared financial and statistical reports and records including juror payroll claims. Excellent knowledge of JSI, a computerized jury management system. I had extensive public contact with individuals of diverse, socioeconomic backgrounds in this position. I exercised considerable independent judgment and discretion in performing my duties and am responsible for ensuring adequate and timely processing of jury panels. I monitored the status of jury trials to ensure panels are properly supplied; I prepared claims for juror fees and mileage; I conferred with bench officers, attorneys, litigants, and Court personnel regarding jury needs. I planned and conducted jury orientations, including speaking to large groups of prospective jurors; obtaining personal data; conversing with members of the public, and representing the court as a positive role model.   • Under the direction of the Court Services Manager or Court Services Supervisor, a courtroom compliance officer serves as collections clerk to a Judge or Commissioner in Superior Court, prepares commitment forms of Court proceedings, and performs difficult, complex, and confidential financial clerical work in support of courtroom sentencing. Directly communicates with the defendant/litigant regarding courtroom sentencing and proceedings. Court Service Assist III is the advanced journey level in the series, providing technical expertise to operational service units within the Superior Court. I performed the full range of specialized clerical duties and provide technical assistance in more complex assignments. A Court Services Assistant III will exercise considerable independent judgment and action within defined criteria.
  • Assists the public on the phone or in-person in the use of Court forms, document filing procedures, researches case status, case documents, and file notations, researches and explains rules, procedures, and codes on specific questions; checks criminal warrants and histories; explains fees and fines.
  • Processes claims, invoices, purchase orders, payments, and warrants; verifies, balances, and adjusts accounts and records; posts, tallies, and reconciles account records; compiles technical data for budget preparation; maintains automated and manual financial and statistical records; prepares journal entries; compiles data for state reimbursement
  • Computes, receives, classifies, and posts payments, bail, fines, and fees; computes penalty assessments; accounts for jury deposits, enters bail and trust monies; and keeps various financial and statistical records; inputs data into various automated financial programs.
  • Contacts debtors; uses legal action or other appropriate recovery methods; personally, interviews debtors and others to determine debtors' financial capabilities; assists debtors in establishing payment plans; explains legal obligations and possible legal consequences of nonpayment; renegotiates delinquent payment plans; analyzes delinquent accounts to determine collection potential and to achieve cost-effective dispositions.
