Leadership Experiences

Faculty Senate Member 2016-2020

Served as a teacher representative, acting as a liaison between the teaching staff and site and district administrative leaders. 

Collaborated with teachers and site and district administrative leaders to mediate conflicts constructively.  

Physics PLC Lead Teacher 2019-2024

Lead the team in the development of the general and AP Physics courses at Clovis East. Mentored new teachers to the team as our enrollment in physics grew. Built strong, collaborative relationships with team members that are based on trust and respect. Lead discussions of best practices to ensure that the team is delivering data driven instruction and intervention. Worked with department and PLC leadership to help build vertical articulation within the science department and develop a pathway of science courses for students 7-12.

Science Department Chair 2024 - current

Meet weekly with learning director to support in department management responsibilities. Communicate department needs and feedback with site administration. Support teachers in their day to day practice and help ensure they have what they need. Develop agendas for regularly scheduled meetings with PLC lead teachers 7-12. Collaborate with high school PLC lead teachers to develop an effective system for spiral curriculum review for the 11th grade CAST assessment. Ensure science classrooms and all science storage areas are in compliance with lab safety rules and regulations.
