Hard working young professional who recently graduated with a bachelors degree in Psychology. Several years of work experience in various fields including the service industry as well as various summer programs for young children. Works well with others and is an organized leader.
For several months, I worked as an admissions specialist at Monte Nido and Affiliates, a company that specialized in treating eating disorders through an intuitive and mindfulness based approach. As an admissions specialist, my responsibilities included introducing the programs, conducting clinical assessments with clients, and managing clients cases in order to find them the right care in one of our programs. Through this experience, I was able to work individually with several clients as they explored the various levels of care.
During my senior year of college, I worked at a local restaurant and hot spot known as Plum St. Snowballs. My responsibilities included working as a cashier taking orders, making the snowballs, preparing flavors and other various items in the back and working several events such as parties and Jazz Fest! Through this experience, I learned how to work well in a fast-paced environment and built up my leadership skills.
Upon graduating and receiving my bachelors degree, I worked as a temporary employee for FIU's Summer Treatment Program. The summer treatment program is an intensive summer program for children that have been diagnosed with ADHD. The program follows a camp schedule of leading various sports, arts and class time while integrating a point system into the daily activities. My responsibilities included collecting and inputting data, leading various group activities such as sports and indoor games and working with a group to input the point system for behavior modification. As a member of the group of counselors, I also had the responsibility to monitor data and work with the members of my group to suggest goals for each of the children that were then created by our clinical supervisor.
During the summer of 2021, I worked as both a group specialist and a lead specialist at Camp Starfish. Camp Starfish is a sleep-away camp for children with learning, behavioral and social difficulties. It is one of the only programs in the country that has a one-to-one ratio of counselors to campers. My responsibilities included leading daily activities for campers, talking to campers on an individual basis and using de-escalation techniques when necessary. For the first half of the summer, the program operated without lead counselors. For the second half of the summer, I was chosen as a lead specialist for the youngest group in the program. Through this experience, I gained significant leadership experience and was able to work directly with the administrators of the camp.
Over the course of several years during college, I worked as a server and hostess at a local restaurant, Imperial Woodpecker. My responsibilities included working as a cashier, making the food for customers, preparing food and recipes during downtime and running errands outside of my work shifts to purchase the food and supplies for the establishment. I was also able to work multiple events such as birthday parties and gala's. During my last year, I was able to train new employees and helped to manage the restaurant.
Over the course of my high school years, I worked as a lead counselor at my school's summer art program known as Creative Hearts. The program was run by the lower school art teacher, Susan Nichols. My responsibilities included helping out with various art projects, transferring campers from each activity and leading a group of campers. During the school year, I worked for the program as an assistant art teacher for the after school program.
