Elevated to Team Lead at Loveland Dairy Queen, I honed leadership and customer service excellence, contributing to its ranking as the #1 Treat Store. At Colorado Foundation for Conductive Education, I have mastered educational assistance, enhancing cognitive and motor skills in developmentally challenged individuals through empathy and excellent communication.
At CFCE, I have been assisting in a summer camp for developmentally challenged children and adults to grow in cognitive function, socialization, as well as fine and gross motor skills. As a classroom assistant, I partner with the group leaders to teach participants how to independently perform functional activities through rhythmic intention, task series, and social group encouragement. A major aspect of my position is the concept of building rapport. Developing an individual relationship with the participants I work with is the only possible way for them to feel safe and genuinely benefit from the program. Tailoring all tasks to the unique person's abilities and personality, utilizing intentional listening, applying organization skills and physical coordination, are all skills I have grown in during my time at CFCE.
I was a team member for the first year but was promoted to a team lead in June of 2023. For the past 6 years, Loveland DQ has been awarded the number 1 Treat Store in ice cream sales. This is in part, due to the positive attitude of its staff which has helped my communication skills to strengthen. This position included leading and helping to lead shifts as well as keeping the store held together. A large portion of my role was also completely dependent upon being personable with costumers in order to provide a good, memorable experience. From making sure the store looked perfect and counting registers at night, to decorating cakes in the morning and making customers feel welcome all day, I have learned customer service, organization, and leadership skills.
