- Studied and analyzed the 2008 Chatsworth train collision, using the NTSB accident report as a source.
- The analysis was composed of a Swiss cheese model and a fault tree.
- Identified trends in incident data and proposed solutions to prevent future occurrences.
Hydrologic Analysis of Storm Event

- Studied the impact of urbanization on runoff volume in the study area of the USC campus.
- The analysis showed that the urbanization of the campus area resulted in flooding, where the natural soil would have been able to absorb all the precipitation (zero runoff).
Keystone B: Earthquake Resistant Tower

- Built a marble track, with the added requirement of a mechanism to separate metal and glass marbles onto separate tracks
- The most creative element: a trampoline on the metal marble track, composed of a cut balloon stretched over a wire frame. Increased the complexity and dynamic of the track.
- The first design since the course's inception to include such an element.
- The project won the Most Creative Design Award.
