• Delivered instruction to a 2nd-grade class of 19 students full-time for 16 weeks by designing age-appropriate lessons in math, ELA, science, and STEM. This resulted in a 35% improvement in scores from formative and summative assessment data.

• Refined Classroom management skills and strategies by collaborating with my mentor teacher and support staff to meet individual students’ needs. This resulted in fewer behavior incidents and improved student engagement.

• Expanded on my knowledge of how to build a positive environment as an educator and a colleague by strengthening my communication skills and keeping an open mind.

• Led small-group and individual lessons daily, addressing social-emotional learning and ELA standards by collaborating with the behavior and reading interventionists to design lesson plans for students on IEP’s. This resulted in improved behavior in class, as well as advancement in reading level for 80% of the students.

• Supported at least 8 classrooms each day, full time for 16 weeks by providing one-on-one guidance and redirection from the implemented behavioral plan. This resulted in smooth classroom transitions and improved enjoyment of students’ classroom time.

• Built positive relationships with students in need of intervention by being present consistently and verbalizing trust and safety often.

• Implemented and adapted lesson plans left by a classroom teacher to support students' needs and the demands of the day by being inquisitive and flexible. This resulted in a fluid transition from classroom teacher to substitute teacher and vice versa.

• Successfully navigated classroom management for short term goals to keep students motivated and engaged by integrating Sub Card Points in every classroom I entered for over 4 years.

• Maintained instructional continuity by arriving early to familiarize myself with classroom routines and procedures to ensure a seamless shift in responsibilities of the classroom. This resulted in preparedness for the day and kudos from present staff who witnessed it.
