Mr. Stacy McVey

At Stepping Stones we are a non-profit organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities. We currently have four locations throughout the Cincinnati area. I'm the maintenance site manager at two of our locations in Western Hills and Norwood. Both of which are commercial buildings. I've also spent some significant time at our Batavia Location which is more of a residential "summer camp" type location sitting on 100+ acres.

I oversee everyday operations in maintenance and facilities.

My job duties include a wide array of all different kinds of work. Anything from PM maintenance, coordinating volunteer groups, office work, cleaning, drywall and painting, working with contractors and venders, plumbing, data, security, fire...and everything in between. I can do a lot of different things. That's why I love his kind of work. Not only working with my hands, but the ability to learn and gain experience in the field I love doing.

I started in food service at Stepping Stones at our Batavia location. I managed the kitchen for many years. I really enjoyed working in the kitchen.

However, as I got a little older I found myself working more maintenance related projects outside of work. Next thing I know, we needed someone to run our maintenance department at our Batavia location. A member of our executive team asked me if I would be interested and I jumped at the opportunity!

Once we found someone to replace me in food service, I ran the maintenance department at this location. A year later I was promoted to run the other two lactations where I'm at currently. That being said, from time to time I'll still help out in the kitchen when needed (if I can).

As the food service director, my job duties were across the board.

Dietetics, budget, spreadsheets, planning menus, recipes, food orders, food deliveries, health department, safety & sanitation, scheduling, hiring, catering, dining hall set up/tear down, design remodel of the kitchen, grill outs, trainings, inventory., etc.
