● Conduct criminal investigations involving felony and misdemeanor offenses by interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects; analyzing evidence; and preparing investigative reports.
● Perform proactive patrols in high-crime areas to identify criminal activity, develop investigative leads, and prevent violent crime, narcotics offenses, gang activity, shootings, robberies, burglaries, and quality-of-life offenses.
● Conduct preliminary investigations at crime scenes by securing locations, documenting evidence, photographing scenes, preserving physical evidence, and maintaining chain of custody for prosecution.
● Develop probable cause through interviews, surveillance, intelligence gathering, physical evidence, officer observations, and investigative techniques.
● Conduct surveillance operations and assist Detective Squads during investigations involving violent crimes, narcotics trafficking, firearms offenses, domestic violence incidents, and other major criminal investigations.
● Collect, analyze, and disseminate criminal intelligence obtained through field investigations, witness interviews, surveillance footage, confidential information, and departmental databases.
● Execute lawful arrests, vehicle stops, search warrants, arrest warrants, and prisoner processing while ensuring compliance with constitutional requirements and NYPD procedures.
● Locate, identify, interview, and debrief victims, witnesses, suspects, and persons of investigative interest to obtain actionable intelligence and develop criminal cases.
● Coordinate investigations with Detective Squads, Assistant District Attorneys, specialized NYPD units, and federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to support successful criminal prosecutions.
● Prepare arrest reports, affidavits, criminal complaints, investigative summaries, search warrant documentation, subpoenas, and other case-related reports.
● Collect, voucher, preserve, and maintain chain of custody for firearms, narcotics, currency, electronic devices, DNA evidence, and other evidentiary property.

• ● Review surveillance video, body-worn camera footage, witness statements, and intelligence reports to identify suspects and establish investigative leads.
• ● Respond to emergency incidents including shootings, robberies, assaults, domestic violence incidents, emotionally disturbed persons, burglaries, weapons offenses, and other high-priority calls for service.
• ● Conduct traffic enforcement and vehicle investigations resulting in criminal arrests, recovery of illegal firearms, narcotics, and stolen property when applicable.
• ● Prepare detailed investigative documentation utilizing departmental reporting systems while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and legal sufficiency.
• ● Testify in criminal court regarding investigative findings, arrests, evidence collection, and enforcement actions.
• ● Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive investigative information, criminal intelligence, and law enforcement records.
• ● Collaborate with fellow officers and supervisors during large-scale public safety operations, emergency incidents, and crime suppression initiatives.
• ● Build positive relationships with community members while identifying crime trends, gathering intelligence, and promoting public safety.
• ● Demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making while managing multiple incidents in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
