 Calcium Ion Removal from Water Using Ion Exchange (Sept 2023-Dec 2023)                                                                                                                

• Used a downflow prototype system to verify capacity of unused resin
• Estimated the regeneration efficiency of the resin
• Created a proposal for further research of the capabilities of the resin as well as bench-scaling the process

Drinking Water Treatment 

Drinking Water Treatment Mini-design  (Sept 2023-Dec 2023)                                                                                                                    

• Calculated the water demand based on given population
• Calculated the dimensions for solid removal units: rapid mixing basin, flocculation, and sedimentation
• Calculated the dimensions for particle/pathogen removal units: rapid sand filter, disinfection, and adsorption
