During my four years at Amherst High School, I experienced significant personal development. Throughout this period, I actively participated in the track team, competing in various events and consistently striving for improvement in my performance. In addition to my involvement in track, I dedicated myself to regular gym attendance, engaging in workouts during school hours as well as after classes.
After the school day concluded, I routinely walked to my place of employment. This walking period served as an effective method for decompressing and reflecting on my day’s activities. My work shifts typically concluded around 9:30 PM, at which point I would either walk home or utilize public transportation, depending on the prevailing weather conditions and my demeanor that evening.
At UMass Amherst, I excelled as a Student Services Supervisor, showcasing my ability to multitask and maintain high standards of hygiene and organization. Demonstrating reliability and expertise in hospitality services, I led a team to improve efficiency in operations, leveraging my skills and effective communication for optimal workflow and environment.
I was also a member of the Cambodian after-school club, where we engaged in various activities that enriched our experience. One of our favorite outings was to the local gym, where we would work out together, pushing each other to achieve our fitness goals. Additionally, we had the unique opportunity to visit the police station, where we interacted with police officers. They welcomed us warmly and even trained with us, sharing their knowledge and skills. These experiences deepened our understanding of fitness and community service while fostering valuable connections with local law enforcement.
