• Provide skilled direct nursing care to cancer patients in hematology department.
• Promote kind, compassionate environment, utilizing active listening and effective communication skills for cancer patients receiving treatment.
• Administered IV/po chemotherapy medication and closely monitored s/e especially for pt's who are on clinical trials and receiving first time chemotherapy treatment.
• Adhering to clinical trial protocols such as, timed medication administration,blood draws (thru central line) and appropriate blood and electrolytes replacements as per parameter.
• Provide patients with information on range of subjects, not limited to side effects from chemotherapy and benefits of proper nutrition during treatment.
• Helped patients and families feel comfortable during challenging and stressful situations, promoting recovery and reducing compliance issues.
• Analyzed cardiac rhythms and reported results to nursing staff or physicians.

Nursing responsibilities includes but not limited to providing total and holistic nursing care to patient who are mechanically ventilated via tracheostomy and other medical problem focusing more on patient who require telemetry monitoring and with acute or chronic respiratory issues.As a relief Lead RN,responsibilities includes:

• Initiated admissions, transitions and discharges by communicating with colleagues as well as patients and family members.
• Supervised CNAs and other staff delivering care in acute setting by coaching and supporting their goal.
• Interpreted and implemented individual care plans.
• Communicated with nursing personnel to enforce procedures, policies and regulations.
• Addressed unit staff concerns, including staffing ratios, resource management, allocation of responsibilities and optimized workload management.

Scope of responsibilities includes assessment,creating ,implementing and evaluating nursing care plan of medical-surgical patient,who are stable enough for the ICU but close monitoring is necessary before being transferred to regular floor.Patient requiring telemetry monitoring ,IV medication drips ,managing stable three days status post op cabbage patient, DKA and other medical-respiratory problem .In addition ,duties as a charge nurse,includes training and mentoring new RNs on best practices, hospital policies and standards of care,set up planning, coordinating, evaluating unit nursing activities , making nursing judgments and decisions, organizing abilities to delegate nursing tasks and operations, and good interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.

RN main function is providing total nursing care to stroke patient following NIHSS guidelines,patient who had neuro surgery, back surgery , joint replacement cases and administering select chemotherapy for cancer inpatient.Monitored post-op vitals, set up PCA, fluids, reviewed post-op orders and assimilated patients to unit. Charge Nurse role includes collaboration with other healthcare member of the team and ensures quality nursing standard were maintained ,followed,delivered in order to meet changing requirements of work environment.
