I attend an academically-rigorous private Christian high school. I have a foundation in humanities and have spent much time studying philosophy, worldview, and the Great Texts. My education has given me a solid base to build off of and pursue the next level of education.
I lead a Bible Study for sixth grade girls every week. We dive into the Bible and I have the incredible opportunity to teach and encourage as well as answer their questions.
I am available weekly to work on long-term projects, grade assignments, organize papers, and many other odd-jobs for my teacher.
I babysat for two summers in a row for seven weeks each summer. I was with the kids all day, every day. I played with them, worked on projects, and went on many adventures. I helped them from the time they woke up to the time they went to bed with everything from getting dressed, preparing meals, and giving baths. I helped them when they were upset or when they needed help.
I attended a week-long service program at Kanakuk Kamps called Mi7. My responsibilities included yard work, preparing meals in the dining hall, cleaning bathrooms, and various other odd jobs.
I shadowed different positions within our local hospital and gained valuable experience of different jobs and roles inside a functioning hospital. In addition to shadowing, my responsibilities at the hospital also included volunteer work. I went in with nurses to assist patients, ran errands for doctors, and did whatever else was needed.
I spent a weekend volunteering at this food bank. I helped people find the food they needed and bagged it for them.
Every year around Christmas, I volunteer at this community outreach program at my church. It's an opportunity to bless families with a day of fun and valuable resources in the Christmas season.
I volunteered at a local non-profit organization by preparing food to hand out in the community to those who are in need.
