I have been a Lieutenant for 5 years. I was trusted enough to be assigned to the busiest house in the city by my Battalion Chief when promoted to Lieutenant. My 25 years overall experience at Decatur Fire & Rescue has prepared for a leadership role at the Battalion Chief level. I have shown my ability to manage emergency situations and lead firefighting teams with precision and confidence. I have exemplified willingness and adaptability to meet organizational goals. My longstanding goals of strong leadership and problem-solving skills have fostered the success of my crew.
I received this award jointly with Vernon Davis and Mike Hasse for the rescue efforts of a father and daughter during a structure fire. Father and daughter are alive and well today.
