Experience

Attention To Detail

As member of the Security, Baseline, and Compliance (SBC) LAN Team, my major duties are to proactively ensure network devices are in compliance with most current VA Baseline. I have demonstrated exceptional attention to detail during various Holistic Reviews, Site OIG Audit Preparations, and numerous Switch IOS Upgrades. These projects require extensive reviews of python scan results to accurately identify all network deficiencies, to efficiently implement configuration changes, and perform network device upgrades which resulted in significantly increasing VA's compliance and security posture.

Customer Service

I am kind and considerate of customer’s needs and go the extra mile to ensure they are satisfied with the results. As a member of the SBC LAN team, I am required to explain technical issues clearly, respond on a timely manner, and follow-up with customers to ensure all their needs are met. I am responsive to any questions, concerns, or comments from customers, and I am often praised for my dedication to excellence and customer service.

Oral Communication

I communicate in a courteous, respectful, and tactful manner to all internal and external customers I have exhibited proficiency in providing end user TACACS and Access Switch training to hundreds of recipients and received positive feedback on my ability to effectively explain detailed technical information. During this training, I successfully conducted over 30 training sessions, each session lasting 2+ hours, to IT staff groups of 100+ personnel, which had significant impact on the recipients knowledge and skillset across the entire VA. I was also the Lead for 10 + Switch IOS upgrade projects. I successfully coordinated and conducted the initial and concluding meetings with the site's leadership, project implementation managers, and local IT staff to discuss the project details, technical processes, procedures, expectations, timelines, and final outcome

Problem Solving

I am responsible for providing sound technical advice and assistance to customers and other team members. I have modified network device configurations and applied appropriate IOS's on switches to resolve network deficiencies and vulnerabilities for multiple sites, with the highest level of accuracy. As key member of a pilot configuration for 802.1X at more than 50 VBA locations, I prepared scripts and performed tests with each site and thoroughly, and successfully resolved any issues encountered during each of site's implementation. I worked with my team to assess and successfully resolve network issues and apply baseline standards to 46% of the VA's 140 medical facilities, which resulted in thousands of vulnerabilities and legacy configuration files brought into compliance with VA National Baseline Standards. I have also resolved hundreds of network device issues reported through SNOW trouble ticket system.
