• Provide medical nutrition therapy for diabetes, weight management, enteral nutrition, renal, malnutrition, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal disease and eating disorder.
• Collaborate with teammates in developing pediatric obesity and bariatric surgery class handouts and power point slides.
• Teach virtually and in-person weight management, renal, bariatric surgery and diabetes classes.
• Assist in leading the Registered Dietitian's Monthly Meeting.
• Contribute regularly to the monthly departmental Diabetes Meeting.
• Communicate with medical clinicians and other allied health providers to ensure patient's optimal clinical outcome.

Past Departmental Contributions

• Led the development of a 12-week, Obesity Collaborative Pilot, i.e., created the curriculum and implemented the program.
• Created the Medical Nutrition Therapy electronic medical record (EMR) notes for department dietitians using ANDHII (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Health Informatics Infrastructure)
• Collaborated with nursing on the development of EMR Gestational Diabetes Notes.
• Functioned as the Endocrinology RN, i.e., taught, administered and interpreted data for the endocrinologist per the continuous glucose monitoring devise, taught patients on the use of insulin and anti-diabetes medications and provided recommendations to optimize patient's blood glucose.
• Presented at the Annual AADE (American Diabetes Care Education Specialist) Meeting, 2016
• Active membership chair OF AADE, Los Angeles Chapter.

• Responsible for the nutritional care of patients in the Geriatric, Oncology, HIV/AIDS, and Teen Eating Disorder Clinic .
• Implemented the nutrition component of the Outpatient Malnutrition Initiative; pioneered the initial work flow.
• Taught weight management, diabetes, cardiovascular and pre-operative bariatric surgery classes.
• Presented at the National HIV/AIDS Kaiser Permanent Conference on the topic of "Unique Needs of the HIV-Infected Patient."
