After two years of retirement and settling into our new home and community, I decided it was time to re-enter the work force.

I took on the position of substitute teacher with WJCC Public School System as it allowed me the opportunity to continue to become further immersed in this new community we had relocated to.

Having both my Bachelors Degree and Law Enforcement background has allowed me the unique opportunity to not only work as a substitute teacher inside the classroom with students of all ages (K-12), but also in a security capacity, working alongside the School Security Team and the School Resource Officer, specifically at Jamestown High School.

As Security Specialists', we are responsible for the daily safety of all those that visit or attend our school. In addition, we are often called upon to assist in investigations with regard to incidents that occur on school property.

• Fostered strong public relations with various community agencies and the employees within Port Everglades, the 3rd largest cruise ship port in the world.
• Directly responsible for approximately 130 sworn and civilian personnel.
• Fiscally responsible of an annual budget of $17 million dollars.
• Worked in a partnership with the US military, as well as local and federal law enforcement agencies.
• Ensured increased efficiency and effectiveness of the department by developing policies, methods, and procedures.
• Implemented proper protocols and training to all personnel which verified each individual's right to enter restricted areas and denied access to unauthorized persons.
• Delivered accurate verbal and written reports to personnel and upper command.

• Worked directly with the city officials of the cities of West Park and Pembroke Park, FL to achieve a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors and businesses alike.
• Maintained direct communication with all personnel by attending roll calls and unit meetings on a daily/weekly basis.
• Directed criminal and non criminal investigations and ensured that police action was taken when warranted.
• Supported the District Chief with daily operational functions.

Sergeant/Internal Affairs: MAR 2011-AUG 2012

• Reviewed citizen complaints against all levels of agency personnel for signs of unprofessional or criminal conduct.
• Conducted extensive, often long term, investigations.
• Wrote detailed reports outlining case findings.
• Appeared at I.A. Review Boards and Arbitrations, testifying under oath in criminal and policy violation cases.
• With the assistance of IT, installed covert cameras, tracking devices and recording devices in compliance with legal statutes and department policies.
• Obtained and served search warrants and subpoenas related to ongoing cases.
