• Creating mock-up designs and fixtures to test prototype parts for design validation.
• Working with cross-functional teams, sourcing, quality, assembly, safety, material & engineering for successfully executing a project from idea generation to production.
• Worked on benchmarking studies and teardown analysis of competitive products to analyse component features and functionality, material selection, cost, and weight reduction comparison & easy accessibility for service.
• Involved in overall engineering activities like design, prototype, development, assembly, virtual & physical verification, ergonomics study, prototype/production supplier selection, production part quality checks, and production build support activities.
• Involvement in testing activities on components and equipment to ensure operational performance meets design specifications.
• Solid modelling & manufacturing drawings of approved designs using CAD software like Creo, SolidWorks, and PLM tools like Windchill.
• Experience in project management, onsite-offshore coordination, and vendor collaboration activities. Excellent in written/verbal/presentation skills. Proficient in using Microsoft Office products.
• Part integration, part elimination, considering DFMA for ease of manufacturing and assembly.
• Updating design and technical specification documents to record design changes and part evolution during the component lifecycle.
• Experienced in Model-based definition (MBD) and Model-Based Enterprise (MBE).
