I want to look back on my career and be proud of the work and also to be proud of all that I tried and accomplished during my professional working tenure.
As an Orientation Advisor Leader at Cleveland State University, my role was dedicated to assisting new international students in their transition to campus life. I organized and hosted various events specifically designed to help them acclimate to their new environment and feel supported throughout their journey. By creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, I aimed to ease any concerns or uncertainties they may have had. Through orientation sessions, campus tours, and social activities, I provided crucial information about university resources, academic programs, and extracurricular opportunities. My goal was to empower these students, encouraging them to embrace their new community and make meaningful connections with fellow students and faculty. By fostering a sense of belonging and ensuring a smooth transition, I aimed to help international students embark on a successful and enriching academic experience at Cleveland State University.
During my time with the non-profit organization, Make a Difference (MAD), I had the privilege of serving as a math and English teacher for underprivileged students in grades 7 to 10. This experience was deeply impactful, as it allowed me to witness firsthand the challenges and resilience of these young individuals. Inspired by their stories and motivated to make a difference in their lives, I dedicated myself to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. I worked tirelessly to make math and English more accessible and enjoyable, employing innovative teaching methods and personalized approaches to cater to their unique needs. Witnessing their progress and witnessing the transformation in their confidence and academic performance was immensely rewarding. The opportunity to be part of a globally recognized organization, endorsed by former First Lady Michelle Obama, further fueled my commitment to community service and reinforced the importance of educational equity. Through my involvement with MAD, I developed a profound appreciation for the power of education in empowering individuals and fostering positive change within disadvantaged communities.
