Summary

My professional background encompasses three significant phases. I am a researcher skilled in the development of fiber-optic sensors for industrial applications and electrical noses. Areas of interest are sensors and instrumentation for applications in harsh environments, femtosecond laser machining and characterization of micro/nanostructures, and the development of novel optical/microwave photonic sensors and systems. I also engaged in the New Sciences and Technologies center, focusing on the design of mice and nano gas sensors using lithography and MEMS and NEMS methods. Subsequently, during my tenure at the Nano Research Center in Australia, I contributed to the development of solar cells and fuel cells by using nanofibers and mesoporous semiconductors.

Fiber Optic Sensors and Instrumentation

  • Design and development of fiber-optic sensors for industrial applications.
  • IED Sensing Network Through Optical Fiber Metal-Organic-Framework Sensors (Shifting to automation of OF-MOF sensor fabrication and characterization with the development of a cost-effective apparatus we are calling the GasMixPro).
  • Fabricate optical fiber-MOF sensor.
  • Design packaging for sensor probe.
  • Develop suitable multiplexing strategies.
  • Evaluate the interrogator's and sensors’ survivability, sensitivity, accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility, long-term drift, and cross-sensitivities for field applications.
  • Developed and demonstrated prototype measurement devices instrumented with fiber-optic sensors that could be used in harsh industrial environments.

  • Designed and built a retrofit inventory management system for refrigerators that uses CNN-based object detection and tracking to detect and track the items going in and out of the fridge).
  • Developed GAN models to generate images of the food cooked at different doneness levels and Conv GRU models for doneness level estimation of the food being cooked in the oven.
  • Pioneered a groundbreaking weapon detection system for security cameras, utilizing CNN-based object detection—a first-of-its-kind innovation.

  • Then I processed the effect of doping on stability, response, response time, and redshift towards visible light
  • Electro-spun fibers were placed on alumina ceramic with Pt interdigitated contacts and then analyzed by FESEM, TEM, XRD, and spectrophotometry techniques
  • The result of this research has been published in several ISI journals and international conference papers.

  • Fabrication of Semiconductor Materials and semiconductor Lasers in the clean room.
  • Fabrication of gas sensor with aligned single nanofiber by micro- and nano-mechanical systems (MEMS and NEMS) method and Electron Beam Lithography.
  • In this research, align single nanofiber of pure TiO2 and GNP-TiO2 fabricated by using the electro-spinning procedure and electrostatic field on triangular and rectangular electrodes provided by Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) for CO gas sensing
  • Single side polished Si wafer (, p-type, 4 inches in diameter) was used for the fabrication process of the device
  • First 1.8^m thick SiO2 was thermally grown on a double-side substrate using a wet oxidation process
  • A rectangular window was opened on the backside of the wafer by Buffered Oxide Etch (BOE), completely removing the SiO2 layer
  • Subsequently, the silicon substrate was wet etched by TMAH to fabricate a closed membrane to pattern the microheater on the closed membrane onto the front side of the wafer, double side lithography was used
  • The microheater was fabricated by depositing nickel over a chromium adhesion layer.
