One of my strengths is that I have the ability to identify problems and solve them practically. While working at a restaurant for a year, I was mainly in charge of foreign tourists. One day, a Muslim customer accidentally ate a meal with a pork and began crying. Until then, if I am asked by a customer whether it contains pork or if it is vegan food, I ask the chef each time. However, after this, I checked the ingredients of all 70 menu items and memorized which dishes contained animal products, and provided alternative menus for the customers if asked. I explain to other floor staff as well. As a result, we were able to respond smoothly to customers with dietary restrictions, and I was able to receive a compliment from the store. Especially during the busy hours, foreign customers were guided to my section if I was there, and my approach eventually became part of the operation. This experience enabled me to turn an individual solution into a sustainable improvement for the whole team.

I can break down long-term goals into concrete, manageable steps. To enroll in my desired host university, I worked toward three challenges simultaneously: GPA, English proficiency, and financing my study abroad. I improved my GPA by actively engaging in class and consulting professors, achieving a 3.7 in the spring semester. I strengthened my English skills through repeated IELTS attempts and earned a 7.0. For funding, I applied for the most competitive scholarship and wrote a 7,000-word application, ultimately receiving 1.8 million yen. Through this process, I learned to prioritize tasks and follow through steadily—an approach I hope to apply during the internship when tackling complex challenges.
