Canales Elementary (August 2019- November 2019)

Volunteers assist children and parents to help shape their minds with reading. Engaging with activities related to the readings, activating the children’s prior knowledge, and having the parents involved with their children’s process in reading. As a Read3 member I was the Assistant Leader and oversaw keeping track of all the necessities and materials that needed to be used during our lesson’s activity. I got to work with the children as well with the parents. I deliver a mini lesson to the children by reading aloud and teaching a related activity.
