My primary responsibility is planning and providing direct educational and vocational training to individuals with developmental disabilities in the home, educational, vocational and community setting. I am responsible for designing specific activities and teaching opportunities related to personal goals and objectives identified at each resident's Person Centered Planning meeting. I am responsible identifying, writing, implementing and integrating training programs and activities addressing skills in the areas of self-determination, fine and gross motor skills, positioning, eating, assistive technology, domestic/self-care, such as personal hygiene, dressing, cooking, eating, and clothing care; leisure, such as use of vending machines, group games, and individual hobbies; pro-social/communications, such as appropriate interaction skills, expressive communication skills and receptive language; vocations such as supported work, housekeeping skills, simple clerical work and community skills, community transition skills, such as restaurant skills, seat belt usage, and purchasing skills; and functional academics, such as time telling, money knowledge, and sight word recognition.
