Specialized in critical care for twenty five years. Provided critical evaluation of patients with sepsis,  renal problems treated with CRRT, and pulmonary and cardiac issues/surgical procedures.  Past expertise with trauma and neurosurgical  patients requiring a critical care level of monitoring and intervention. Managed complex medication/treatment regimens. Through my efforts as a preceptor, I am proud to facilitate the education and acquisition of skills of others to perpetuate a standard of excellence.

  • Varied experiences in critical care nursing gained through multiple opportunities as a travel RN, seasonal RN, and staff RN throughout the United States and the Middle East. This has allowed me to challenge myself and presented unlimited learning possibilities regarding clinical experiences and appreciation of multicultural uniqueness. I am continuously seeking opportunities to excel and to which I can contribute. 
  • Continually improved knowledge, skills and performance based on feedback and self-identified professional developmental needs. Member of AACN and have maintained CCRN-Adult status since 1991, in addition to ACLS and BLS. 
  • Worked closely with other medical staff, including physicians to determine individualized plans of care for each patient.
  • Performed regular assessments on patients to evaluate their response to individualized care plans.
  • Communicated with the patient and his or her family/SO regarding care, tests and medications so that they were well-informed. Family centered care is a well accepted and established tenet of patient care;  strongly emphasized in  my critical care units.
  • Responsible for precepting staff transitioning to critical care, including new to specialty, travel, experienced, and new graduate RNs.
