I started in 2002 as a parapro in PE. Mr. Michael Davis(Principal) began having me to cover the office as the Receptionist was out numerous times, sick. Toward the end of the 2003 school year he offered me the job and I accepted.
The Computer Operator, at that time, began missing a lot of work so I eventually had to learn that job. We did not have an Enrollment Center at that time. Each school was responsible for enrolling new students and withdrawing students. Not to mention FTE was three times a year. The Computer Operator resigned July 2007. I applied for the job and was offered the job.
I schedule students and maintain their cumulative records. I run report cards and help teachers who need help with their gradebook. Send records to schools of students withdraw and enroll in. Check in and file student records as they come in.
During my time as Computer Operator I had gone through 5 bookkeepers. I believe it was in 2018 when we had that position open. I finally suggested to the Principal, Dr. Christina Tucker, that I would like to apply for it. I've been the Bookkeeper since then.
I handle all monies collected by teachers for fundraisers and field trips. I keep up with about 20 accounts and do monthly balancing and reports. And yearend balancing and reports. I write receipts for the monies that is collected from each teacher.
I also handle all leave in YOSS. I contact subs and assign them to the appropriate teachers. Sometimes I have to run reports for the employees of their leave and/or times. I also input their days absence, if they are unable to do so.
