RN Charge 2003 to 2025, CoVid charge nurse 2019 to 2023. Last few years PRN charge. I worked at Atrium-Lincoln for 22 years on Med/Surg floor. We had pediatrics until start of CoVid so 16 years in pediatric care. We also had all other age groups, from a few weeks old to geriatric population. I have experience in many aspects of medical care including, but not limited to, infection control; care of, and meds through, all manners of tubes; heart monitoring; post op orthopedic (elective and emergent injuries); abdominal sx. including all forms of GI surgeries; wound care- operative, diabetic, vascular and pressure wounds; preventive care; education of patients and family members; care plan initiations and follow up resolutions; psychiatric care of all forms of mental illness, up to and including, suicidal ideation; member of peer review committee last 8 to 9 years with investigations into incidents and positive resolutions; excellent assessment skills; professionalism; preceptor numerous times to new grads and new employees; team player; won't stop until the solution or answer is found and be a pt. advocate above all else.
