  • The staff member will gather migrant information for non-profit organizations that are assisting with travel and coordinate the movement of migrants between the airport, bus stations and Travis Park Church (TPC).
  • This is not an office-based position and requires the staff person to stand and walk to the various rooms that the migrants are staying to collect vital information.
  • Staff are needed to work with these migrants during the day and weekends. The migrant assistance operates 7 days per week.
  • Seeking a candidate who is bilingual (Spanish/English), compassionate, a good problem solver, and performs well under pressure.
  • When migrants are released from immigration detention custody, they are given paperwork that allows them to travel freely in the U.S., including a notice of future appointments with immigration officials.
  • Their first immigrant hearing is typically scheduled for several months from their release.
  • Most migrants then work quickly with their relatives in other parts of the US to have those relatives purchase them travel tickets from San Antonio to New York, for example, or Miami, or Los Angeles, etc. so they can be with their relatives.
  • A small number do not have relatives or resources to travel and will need to be referred to a non-profit partner for assistance.
  • The migrants are typically dropped off at the San Antonio Airport or the Greyhound bus station in vans or buses by ICE, or by a nonprofit charity located in South Texas or by a private transportation company.
  • Migrants are dropped off at the various San Antonio locations every day, seven days per week and the City of San Antonio and non-profit partners and volunteer partners work to move them to a single location to intake and aid as needed.
  • Coordinate with Endeavors staff with projected arrivals being reported from the Airport, Bus Station, TPC Shelter, and other locations.
  • The liaison is responsible for ensuring drivers are aware of the enrollment process and adhere to the intake procedures and instructions provided by the Endeavors staff.
  • You will need to collect Names, Date of Birth, Gender, referring organization, and provide this to the ICF Endeavors staff prior to arrival of any clients.
  • Liaisons will need to coordinate closely with Catholic Charities and other Non-profits to notify clients when their travel is ticketed and ensure the client departs on time.
  • You will need to coordinate with the CoSA drivers on transported clients from the ICF hotel to the Airport or Bus Station when travel plans are finalized.
  • Clients should depart once their bus or flight is ticketed and are scheduled to depart the same day or within 12 hours.
  • Do not delay transport as vehicles and drivers are limited.
  • Clients departing from the downtown bus station must arrive no earlier than 3 hours prior to departure.
  • Airport passengers can arrive at the airport 12 hours before their flight.
